Dr Louise Bentley is a highly experienced Consultant Radiologist and Executive Director at Imaging Associates, as well as Clinical Director of Imaging Associates Footscray. With more than 20 years of experience in radiology across public and private practice, Louise is passionate about providing patients with high-quality imaging, clear and expert diagnosis, and collaborative patient care

Louise has been a Consultant Radiologist at Western Health since 2004 and has also been a Director and Consultant Radiologist with Imaging Independently and IAG Peninsula Health since 2010 and has held a number of senior clinical leadership positions, including Deputy Clinical Director and Director of MRI.

Louise completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Flinders University before undertaking her internship, residency and radiology training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Her specialist training included fellowships in MRI, with a focus on musculoskeletal and neuroradiology. She obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2002.

Her areas of clinical expertise include musculoskeletal imaging, particularly orthopaedic and rheumatological imaging, neuroradiology and emergency imaging. She is also accredited in cardiac CT and has extensive experience in oncology imaging, ultrasound and image-guided procedures.

Louise understands that undergoing medical imaging can sometimes be an unfamiliar or stressful experience. She believes in taking a thoughtful and patient-centred approach, ensuring patients feel comfortable and supported while receiving expert care. She works closely with referring doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging and meaningful information that helps guide each patient’s care.

Education and professional development are also important to Louise. Throughout her career, she has supervised and mentored radiology registrars and remains committed to fostering a culture of learning, collaboration and excellence.

As Clinical Director of Imaging Associates Footscray, Louise brings extensive clinical expertise and leadership to the development of a new comprehensive private radiology service within the new Footscray Hospital precinct. The purpose-built facility is the largest private comprehensive radiology clinic in Melbourne’s west, offering a full range of imaging services in a modern, welcoming and patient-focused environment.

Louise is focused on building a strong and collaborative clinical team and creating a service where patients and referring doctors feel confident they are receiving high quality imaging, expert diagnosis and an exceptional standard of care.
