Located within Wonthaggi Hospital, Imaging Associates Wonthaggi is a radiology clinic designed to provide state-of-the-art medical imaging services to the local Bass Coast Shire community, ensuring leading expertise, care and convenience for patients and healthcare providers alike.  

Using the latest technology, our Wonthaggi clinic offers MRI,  Ultrasound, X-Ray, OPG and Interventional Radiology Procedures, with a brand new lose-dose cardiac-capable CT scanner being installed in late October.  

We are dedicated to providing exceptional imaging services that prioritise patient outcomes and support the healthcare needs of the community. Our partnership with Bass Coast Health represents our commitment to expanding access to cutting-edge medical imaging technology throughout the region. 

Under the leadership of Clinical Director Dr. Johan Smalberger, our Wonthaggi team are committed to providing a compassionate and supportive experience for all who walk through our doors. Johan is a diligent, caring and approachable radiologist, who emphasises making a positive point of difference in patient care.

Bass Coast Health

As of October 8 2024, Imaging Associates is the new radiology provider at Wonthaggi Hospital (previously I-Med Radiology Wonthaggi Hospital), with plans to extend services to the new Phillip Island Community Hospital upon its completion in 2025. 

As part of this partnership, we will enhance and introduce several key imaging services at Wonthaggi Hospital, including:  

• A new low-dose cardiac-capable CT scanner.  
• Continuation of BreastScreen services, ensuring seamless care.   
• Diagnostic mammography, with upgraded equipment (2025).  
• Services operated by an expert team of radiologists and imaging professionals.  
• In addition, Imaging Associates will support Bass Coast Health’s long-term expansion, including the development of a future MRI facility at Wonthaggi Hospital.
