Dr Hamish McKay is a passionate advocate for continuous clinical education and has combined training in medicine and radiology drawn from a broad medical knowledge base. He joined Imaging Associates in 2018, where he is Clinical Lead for head and neck imaging.
Hamish gained his medical degree at the University of Otago in New Zealand in 2008 before relocating to Australia in 2012. He then undertook post graduate studies, including a Masters of Medicine in Radiology (MMed) at the University of Melbourne which he completed in 2016. He did his Radiology training at St. Vincent’s Hospital in 2016 and then completed Radiology Fellowship training (MRI) in 2018. He is also a Consultant Radiologist at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Hamish is well known for his perseverance, determination, willingness to always go the extra mile for his patients and importantly for his easy going, always calm manner.
In a specialty that is always growing and evolving as technology advances, Hamish thrives on the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology while still performing interventional hands-on procedures so as to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients.
He is currently Chair of Imaging Associates’ Education Committee and is also a member of the Information Technology Committee, along with numerous post-graduate qualifications.
