Clinical Director Richmond, Radiologist

Specialties: Musculoskeletal and Breast Radiology

Dr Hayley Wong is Clinical Director at Imaging Associates’ Richmond clinic and holds dual subspecialties in musculoskeletal and breast radiology. She is recognised for her calm, compassionate approach to patient care, supported by strong clinical expertise and thoughtful, collaborative leadership.

Hayley graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and has worked as a radiologist since 2017. She has completed both a Breast Screen Fellowship and a Musculoskeletal Fellowship, developing broad experience across two highly patient-focused and technically complex subspecialties.

In her clinical practice, Hayley places strong emphasis on clear communication, diagnostic accuracy, and collaboration. She works closely with referring GPs, surgeons, sports physicians, and allied health professionals to support timely diagnosis and optimal patient outcomes. Her musculoskeletal work spans everyday injuries through to elite sport, and she works with professional sporting organisations including Carlton Football Club, Hawthorn Football Club and Melbourne City Football Club.

Hayley has a strong interest in research and education. She has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents at national scientific meetings, including RANZCR and the Australasian Musculoskeletal Imaging Group (AMSIG) Annual Scientific Meetings, where she has received several awards. She is currently undertaking research into adductor magnus injuries and lateral patellar dislocation.

Hayley is actively involved in education and mentoring, having taught medical students, radiology trainees, and fellows, and contributes to musculoskeletal fellowship training. Within Imaging Associates, she is a member of the Technology and Innovation Committee, Breast Radiologist Committee and Private Practice Committee, reflecting her commitment to clinical quality and service improvement.

Hayley is also a passionate advocate for enhancing access to quality healthcare for all, and in 2017, she volunteered as a doctor at free medical camps in Fiji, working to set up medical clinics in local schools to service remote villages, who otherwise would not have access to a general practitioner or a hospital.

As Clinical Director, Hayley leads with a strong focus on patient experience, clinical excellence, and team collaboration, fostering a supportive environment where patients feel informed, respected and well cared for throughout their imaging journey.
