Dr Kirti Mehta has been working as a radiologist for over two decades and is Imaging Associates’ Clinical Lead in Breast Imaging, Eastern Health. Joining our team in 2010, she is dedicated to providing first-class, comprehensive and compassionate patient care.
Kirti completed her medical degree in 1998, qualifying as a MBBS, MD Radiology at Dr BAM University in Aurangabad India. She then completed specialist training in Diagnostic Ultrasound, Breast Imaging and Foetal Medicine and worked as a lecturer and consultant in India before moving to Australia in 2004. There, she undertook registrar training and a Breast Imaging fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital.
She strongly believes that good communication with patients and their treating doctors is absolutely fundamental in optimal patient management and positive treatment outcomes.
She was the Director of Training at Breast Screen and the Medical Imaging Department at St Vincent’s Hospital. She is also a lead Breast Radiologist at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Kirti practices a multimodality approach to breast imaging which includes reporting 3D and 2D mammography, contrast mammography, breast ultrasound and breast MRI and performing various breast interventions under different modalities. She is a valued member of the breast multidisciplinary teams at Eastern Health and at St Vincent’s Hospitals. She strongly believes that good communication with patients and their treating doctors is absolutely fundamental in optimal patient management and positive treatment outcomes.
She is an active and passionate advocate for ongoing professional development and education. She currently teaches Breast Imaging to Radiology Registrars as part of the University of Melbourne’s Department of Radiology training program. Kirti has also given multiple presentations at the Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists Annual Scientific Meeting and at Breast Interest Group Meetings.
