York graduated from the University of Melbourne and completed his Internship and Residency at Austin Health before undertaking his Radiology training at Southern Health, which included an MRI Fellowship year. York then moved to London to complete an Interventional Radiology Fellowship across the Imperial College and Royal London hospital networks. Upon his return to Australia he held a position as a Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist at Alfred Health before joining Imaging Associates at Eastern Health in 2013.
In January 2014, York made a tree change, moving from Melbourne to Wagga Wagga, and established new standards for medical imaging within the surrounding areas. Imaging Associates introduced state of the art technology to the Riverina, including 3D Mammography, breast MRI, low radiation dose CT, and 4D parathyroid CT. In just three years, York has led and grown a highly skilled and dedicated team. The practice has enjoyed significant growth and built a reputation as a provider and employer of choice. As a hands-on Interventional Radiologist York’s compassionate and sensitive manner is appreciated by all his patients. He regularly shares his knowledge and expertise with staff, students, and clinicians at education sessions and clinical meetings.
In December 2016, York accepted the role of Clinical Director of Medical Imaging at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital as Imaging Associates commenced medical imaging reporting services for the Murrumbidgee Local Health District. York oversees service provision with a strong focus on access, efficiency and improved patient care.
