Dr Matthew Richardson started working as a radiologist in 2004 and joined Imaging Associates in 2008 with a particular interest in Vascular Interventional Radiology. As a senior and valued member of our team, he is a wonderful teacher and mentor to other clinicians and is dedicated to helping solve complex medical issues.

Dr Richardson graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1995 and then completed four years of Radiology training at Austin Health, including a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology completed in 2003. In 2004, Matthew completed a further Fellowship in MRI at Westmead Hospital in Sydney. 

Amiable, patient and understanding, his priority as a radiologist is to use available, minimally invasive interventional radiology techniques to help solve patient’s medical problems and, in doing so, make a difference in their lives.

Matthew is a senior and valued member of Imaging Associates’ team; he is a member of the Executive Group and holds positions as Clinical Director, Ultrasound and Chairman of Imaging Associates’ Specialists Unit Trust. 

He is also a wonderful team member, teacher and mentor to other clinicians. Amiable, patient and understanding, his priority as a radiologist is to use available, minimally invasive interventional radiology techniques to help solve patient’s medical problems and, in doing so, make a difference in their lives. 

A little known fact about Matthew is that he has a very fine singing voice; he was once a professional singer and member of the Opera Australia chorus.
