Dr Daniel Lee
Speciality: Clinical Director
Dr Daniel Lee is a radiologist with a special interest in breast imaging and MRI, and is the clinical director at Imaging Associates Mitcham.
Dr Lee is a Monash University trained doctor, who completed his radiology training at The Northern Hospital. He continued his training with an MRI fellowship at The Northern Hospital, followed by a breast imaging fellowship at North Western BreastScreen and Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Dr Lee has been regularly involved in radiology teaching, particularly in breast radiology. He has given presentations at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) Annual Scientific Meeting on tomosynthesis guided breast biopsy, Australasian Society for Breast Disease (ASBD) on breast ultrasound, RANZCR Breast Imaging Group Meeting on tomosynthesis reading, lateral arm attachment and breast density and risk assessment, and General Practice Conference & Exhibition (GPCE) on breast cancer detection in moderate-to-high risk women.
Daniel is excited to be an executive director for Imaging Associates, a company owned and operated by radiologists, that offers cutting edge technology, particularly in the field of breast radiology. Imaging Associates was one of the first radiology practices in Australia to offer 3D mammography (tomosynthesis), the first radiology practice in Australia to offer low dose 3D mammography by utilising Hologic C-ViewTM and Intelligent 2DTM technology, and one of the few radiology practices in Australia to offer tomosynthesis guided breast biopsy and hookwire localisation using lateral arm attachment.
Dr Lee also has a strong interest in mammographic breast density, and Imaging Associates was one of the first radiology practices in Australia to offer objective mammographic breast density measurements using VolparaTM technology. Using this information, Imaging Associates is one of the very few radiology practices in Australia to offer patients a formal breast cancer risk assessment using the Tyrer-Cuzick model (IBIS tool), and subsequent personalised breast imaging screening recommendations.
Daniel is a strong believer in compassionate patient care, especially in the field of breast radiology and imaging guided procedures. He believes that good communication with the patients and treating doctors results in better patient management and outcomes.
