• Mammography: 3D mammography (tomosynthesis) is offered as standard at Imaging Associates. This has significant advantages over conventional 2D mammography, and enables our team of expert breast radiologists to detect breast lesions that may otherwise be obscured by normal dense breast tissues, and offer more definitive diagnoses.
• Breast Ultrasound: Ultrasound is particularly effective in distinguishing if a mass in the breast is cystic or solid, which then aids the diagnosis of malignant versus benign lesions. It is also useful for patients with dense breasts where traditional mammography has limited sensitivity. Ultrasound can be useful in the diagnosis of mastitis and abscesses, and can assess breast implant integrity.
• Breast Interventions: Including ultrasound and tomosynthesis guided breast biopsies, fine needle aspirations (FNA), marker insertions, and hookwire localisation for breast surgery.
• Obstetric/Fetal Ultrasound: Comprehensive ultrasound services for monitoring pregnancy, including 3D assessments and fetal well-being evaluations.
• Pelvic Ultrasound: Particularly effective in the diagnosis of conditions such as fibroids, polyps, ovarian cysts, and endometriosis and for fertility assessments.
• Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Scans: Also known as DEXA scans, this exam is used for early detection and ongoing monitoring of osteoporosis to prevent fractures and maintain bone health.
• Computed Tomography (CT): Utilised for pre-operative planning in breast cancer patients undergoing DIEP flap reconstruction.
