Imaging Associates Expands into the Footscray Hospital Precinct

New state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging clinic to open in October 2026

A major milestone has been reached in the development of Imaging Associates’ newest clinic, with the installation of key imaging equipment at our future Footscray location last weekend.

Scheduled to open in October 2026, the purpose-built 1,100sqm facility will become Imaging Associates’ 16th Victorian clinic and our newest destination for advanced diagnostic imaging services.

Located within the Footscray Hospital Precinct, the clinic will bring together leading technology, subspecialist expertise and Imaging Associates’ doctor-led approach to support patients, GPs, specialists and allied health professionals across Melbourne’s west.

The opening marks an exciting new chapter for Imaging Associates as we establish a presence within one of Victoria’s most significant healthcare developments. Situated alongside the new Footscray Hospital and a growing network of healthcare providers, the clinic has been designed to improve access to high-quality imaging services in a rapidly expanding region.

The new clinic will offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging services, including PET-CT, 3T MRI, CT, including cardiac imaging, ultrasound, X-Ray and Mammography.

A defining feature of the facility will be the introduction of PET-CT services, a first for Imaging Associates. The clinic will house one of Melbourne’s newest Siemens Biograph Trinion PET-CT systems, providing advanced molecular imaging to support oncology, neurology and selected cardiac investigations.

For patients and referrers, the addition of PET-CT represents enhanced access to specialist imaging services closer to home. For Imaging Associates, it reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in technology and clinical capability that support timely diagnosis, informed treatment planning and better patient outcomes.

The installation completed last weekend marks one of the most complex stages of the project to date.

Moving and positioning highly specialised imaging equipment required months of planning and close collaboration between engineers, construction teams, equipment specialists and project partners. Seeing the equipment successfully installed is an important milestone and a tangible sign that the clinic is moving closer to opening.
