Dr Gary Liew
Speciality: Cardiac Imaging
Dr Gary Liew is an interventional cardiologist and local expert in Cardiac CT.
He graduated from the University of Melbourne and completed Physician & Cardiology training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. After which he undertook a further 6 years of sub-speciality training including an interventional fellowship and PhD research at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Gary completed a postgraduate fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and was a faculty member of Harvard Medical School, USA.
He has been a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Dept. of Medicine, University of Adelaide since 2008..
Gary is the lead author of the Cardiac Society of Australia & New Zealand guidelines on Cardiac CT and MRI.
In addition, he has authored and co-authored numerous publications in the areas of interventional cardiology, Cardiac CT and MRI.
Gary consults on all aspects of general cardiology with particular interest in chest pain evaluation, risk stratification, Cardiac CT & MRI and coronary stenting.
Gary is a Director of Imaging Associates Cardiology, which has been established in partnership with Imaging Associates Group. Cardiac CT is performed at Imaging Associates Box Hill, utilising state of the art 360 detector Toshiba Aquilion One CT scanner, allowing for low radiation scans to be completed in a single heartbeat.
