This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
During October, we want to raise awareness about this disease and ensure our local community is checking their breasts regularly as well as discussing their risk with family and their general practitioners. All of us can be proactive with our breast health. Knowledge and early detection saves lives.
- 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 85.
- Detection of invasive breast cancers in increased by 40% with 3D Mammography, compared with 2D mammography alone.
- If breast cancer is found early, before spreading to the lymph nodes, the five-year survival rate is 96%.
Imaging Associates is donating $5.00 from every mammogram during the month of October.
Mitcham is donating these funds to Pink Hope
Pink Hope is a breast and ovarian preventative health hub, working to ensure every individual can assess, manage and reduce their risk of breast and ovarian cancer, while providing personalised support to at-risk women.
Wagga is donating their proceeds to McGrath Foundation
The McGrath Foundation raises money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses who provide invaluable support and care to women and men experiencing breast cancer.
So, if you have a referral sitting at home or in your bag, please do not put it off any longer!
