Radiologist, Griffith Base Hospital

Dr Yalawar’s medical career started with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2005, later completed his radiology training in India and began working as a radiologist in 2010. He then pursued further studies and worked in India, Singapore and the United Kingdom, becoming a Diplomate of the National Board (DNB) in India in 2012 and the following year, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in the United Kingdom. In addition, become a member and fellow of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2021. 

Raj worked for over a decade in various roles in Australia and internationally, including senior registrar, consultant and Associate Professor, before joining Imaging Associates as a Diagnostic Radiologist in 2019. His particular areas of expertise are cross sectional imaging and MRI, but he also has an interest in neurological, musculoskeletal and paediatric imaging.

Over the course of his career, Raj has authored a number of original research papers, case reports, review articles and e-posters. He also has a strong teaching background and experience, worked as Associate Professor at the Medical College in India.  He carries multidisciplinary meetings, various tutorials for residents’ doctors in Griffith Base Hospital, NSW, Australia.

Outside of work, Raj’s hobbies include travel, sports and music.
